Over the last two days we have received two feet of snow and there is no sign of slowing! The storm got stuck over Winter Park and can't escape the valley. Oh, what are we to do with all of this snow? Play of course! Yippee! We have snow!

After a Dry Spell... The Snow Came Back!

We're at the beginning of a 4 day storm and have already received 5 inches! Winter Park Ski Area claimed 3.5" at 5:30am, the news claimed 4.5" at 7 AM, and it has been snowing all day, so I may be underestimating, but you get the point. We're excited! So by Saturday the worst of the storm is supposed to be coming through... start burning last years ski's and praying for TONS of SNOW!

Anyways, I wanted to say thanks to www.snowboardgang.com for having a great forum for people worldwide to chat back and forth about the things we all love... snow!

Baby, it's cold outside!

It's getting colder and colder outside! We officially have 14 days until the ski area opens... let it snow! We've had a few inches here and there, and the ski area is blowing snow, so the moral around here is getting higher and higher everyday! Call Shaun at our front desk and we will be more than happy to discuss the skiing conditions around here (he loves talking snow talk)!

Why I love the Winter...

Alright, after living in Colorado for 12 years, I get those crazy questions, " I could never live in such a cold place, why do you live there?" Let me tell ya... well first things first, I can put on as many layers I want to get warm... but you can only get so naked to try to cool off! Next? Why is it millions of people try to escape to the mountains every year, if the winter is so bad? I'll tell ya. The winter rocks! Yeah, you got bad driving conditions and blizzards, but that's all we got! We don't have the bad bugs, tornadoes, hurricanes, roaches, earthquakes... I can go on and on; what it comes down to is Mother Nature loves us. Even during a bad blizzard you can still walk outside! We have scary things like mountain lions and bears, but I don't crawl through the forest by myself or go scouting for them, so the only time I have ever seen a bear was when he was digging through the trash... and the mountain lions, going 12 years strong of not being around or seeing any and proud of it. I'm not knocking our warm weather friends... I love to escape the winter sometimes and sip on a drink with a little umbrella tipped to the side and the roar of the ocean in the backgroud (that's another blog though). All I'm saying is... get up here and live the winter for a little bit. See what the locals are raving about. Of course I favor Winter Park, because that's where I've been for so long, but anywhere up in Colorado is better than no where! Alright, let me plug the Iron Horse Resort... it's plain and simple... we rock! Call us, write us, however you can get ahold of us, just tell them Kasy send ya and get 10% off! Of course you have those black out dates and fine print and yada yada... you know what, just ask for me... Thanks for reading and stay tuned!
